Music's Original PIMP Dies

The music industries pioneering PIMP, Ike Turner, died December 12th at the age of 76.  Ike Turner was known for his music, but better known for his way strong pimp-hand.

Observed one passer-by in Dorchester, MA, “Ike Turner?  He didn’t take any shit!  When a woman talked back to him, BAM, the bitch went down.  How do you think Tina’s nose got so damn flat?”

Ike’s bad-boy image wained as the years went by, but he never lost his love for music.  In 2007, Ike won a Grammy for his blues album “Risin’ With the Blues.”    Everybody interviewed by BeerGog believed that Ike Turner had died long ago, and was not aware he had released a new album.

“He won a Grammy?  Was it a post-humus lifetime achievement award?  Does Tina know about this?” said one music affectionado.

Ike emphatically denied having ever been an abusive husband or a drug addict.  He felt his legacy was tarnished by lies and misinformation.  By winning the Grammy in 2007, Ike was able to put the emphasis back on the music he loved to create for those who knew he was still making music.

When asked, a fan recalled what they remembered most about Ike before he died, “He had the whitest teeth I’ve ever seen in my life.  I mean, they were really white.  Like, you could drive at night with your headlights off white.”

BeerGog will forever remember Ike for setting the bar for performers such as Old Dirty Bastard, and Bobby Brown.  Pimping has evolved since the days of back-hand slap-downs, but Ike brought it none the less.
